2022
It was fun and the spirit of the occasoin was evident. Less enthusiastic than last year's parade. There hasn't been an Air Force jet fly over in many years. There were few floats. Mostly decorated cars, trucks, and motorcycles. There was no military presence except the JROTC kids; no bagpipes; no walking groups from businesses, schools, hobbies; no mini-bikes, go carts, or others who participated in the past.
At the 2017 parade a father and his two small girls watched. Christina was friendly and would visit people around them. Her sister's name was Liberty! As the parade was ending Christina approached me. She looked at my small flag and reached out with an open hand. I gave her my flag. By doing that I made a promise. Christina and Liberty: I have not forgotten.
